I have some cheap parts store (CSK auto) seats in my car. They look okay but I hate them. I don't ever want to get in a wreck with them I'd assume they'd just crumple.

I got these from a show about an hour from my home. The show was GM show in Carlisle PA, I got the set for $300

They look just like the summit ones and I love them. They are pretty comfortable to boot.

Re: (POST PICS) After market Seats in your car!

Ok, I went and took some pictures of my seats today just for this thread. Nothing great though since it's a bit wet outside. They're seats out of a BMW, they didn't fit particularly well, took a couple of days to get them to fit in there.

That sun-looking thing in the back is my license plate And what the hell, might as well throw in a picture of my car

Edit: I forgot to mention the best part: power everything! up, down, forward, backward, tilt, recline, bolster. I couldn't get the memory to work though

Just looked it up, 2004 330.

As for mods, more than I had hoped. There was no way I could get them to bolt up to the factory bolts, so I positioned them just behind the factory cross braces and drilled new holes. The factory bolts needed to be cut and the bar notched so that the seats could slide forward.

On the back inside mounting point of the two seats there is a spacer welded to the bottom of the seat that the bolt slides through so that they would sit flush with the floor.

The passenger side hump made the passenger seat sit too high, so we hammered it down a bit and it's good.

On the underside we welded the eight nuts for the bolts in.

So, it was a bit extensive, and I'm not 100% sure if it's safe to bolt the seats to the floor, maybe I'll see if I can brace it in the future. I'm not sure if you would be able to get these in if you have SFCs like UMI's because four of the nuts end up right above them. I put these in first and had to cut the bolts flush with the bottom of the nut, so that there would be enough clearance between them and the top of the SFC.

Lastly, hell yes they're comfortable! They are nice and firm. The bolster provides good support and moves up and down so you can put it where you want.

I don't know that I'd specifically search out these seats to put in though. I originally wanted a pair of c5 corvette sport seats, but all of the nice ones were going for over a grand on ebay, which I couldn't swing at the time. In desperate need for seats, I spotted these for 250 (400 shipped) and figured they'd be nicer than anything else I could afford - I think I made a good call on that part.

Godspeed how much were they?.. and did you buy the rear seat covers too? had a hard time telling

those are sooo awesome, i wanted to get a set for my car but their up there in price.. so i'll just save redoing seats till i can do them the right way and spend the extra money

i saw a set on i thought summit that had the same basic design.. i was going to look into buying those but i couldn't find them when i had the money.. kinda bumped about that..

Godspeed, did you buy Arizen's brackets? If so, how were they to install? Any clearance issues? Did you go with the 22" width?

I've got the Arizens as well. I used their brackets. Went with the wider seats and also got matching covers for the rears. Besides being a little confused on how to mount the seats to the brackets, it took me like 4 times to get them on right, they bolted right in nicely. I highly recommend them as well.

Re: (POST PICS) After market Seats in your car!

mounting was very easy...no problems at all that i can remember. I think i went with the standard width (im not a real big guy 180lbs). ZERO fitment issues, clears everything pretty well. I think there is a slight issue with the floor seatbelt mount getting in the way but it wasnt a big deal for me cause it just lessens the amount of adjustability on the passengers side. The only thing i modified was the seats naturally sit a bit high and there are some spacers btw the seat frame and the slider brackets, removing them dropped it down about 1" and it felt much more like the stock seat height.

final price was around $900 shipped if I remember correctly. They are really sweet though and I do highly recommend arizen for their knowledge, customer support, and helpfulness.

The inserts are Light Slate suede. I use the car for mostly shows, and rarely have the tops on, so I wanted to try to cut down on the areas that would end up burning my skin everytime I sat in them. lol

Re: (POST PICS) After market Seats in your car!

Corbeau TRS seats I had mounted in my IROC, loved the seats but they didn't fit well within the car. The seating position was too high for my long upper body, I've currently got 4th gen seats.

They came from Arizen as a package. However they use Katzkin for the covers. So you could have Katzkin match whatever you want.

Re: (POST PICS) After market Seats in your car!

now those look good and the seating height appears to be stock or just a hair lower which would be perfect (for me). the corbeau's I had were the same height or just a bit taller, but you didn't sink into the foam at all so you were actually sitting much higher in the car.

what'd those cost you, and what brand are they?

Re: (POST PICS) After market Seats in your car!

thanks. i dont know what brand they are. they dont have any markings. they came with sliders but what i did was cut off the mounting plates off the stock sliders and welded them to the new ones. and had adapter brackets made to line up the new sliders with the factory mounting studs. so they mount the same height but like you said you dont sink in- they are pretty firm. so you do sit a little higher. i got them used for $80 for the pair and 4 pt harnesses.

dont have a chance to get started on the drivers side. i've been having to daily drive as my girlfriend is borrowing my regular driver. but the drivers side looks like it will be easier to mount nice a low to stock height.

Re: (POST PICS) After market Seats in your car!

Forgive me for being slightly off-topic, but has anyone had good impressions of the Yonaka Ronin racing seats? I'm thinking of getting a vinyl set.

I'm doing the yonaka ronin black leather seats. I bought them and am now attempting to find somewhere who makes specific brackets for mounting them in a camaro. They look Identical to ARizens seats but Arizen will not sell me just the brackets. THey told me to talk to Wedge Engineering.I'll call them tomorrow. I'm sure they will want something outrageous for the brackets to be made.

Re: (POST PICS) After market Seats in your car!

Project - The same one as the font for 3rd gen cars. Dunno where they got it from. I think they had a stock 4th gen font, and i went back and forth via email and phone to get the r to look right. Again - amazing service. They take a little time to get, but they're worth it. I'm not a patient person..id' have liked them quicker, but good stuff takes time.

Color matches body color too ...i took a few pics, gave them info so they could get the gm color code..somehow found a matching color in their bag of tricks. couldn't have asked for any more.

You two guys above w/the Arizens have just helped me to make up my mind. Recently pulled the grey interior in favor for black, but I'm not digging the factory black seats. Those Arizens are very nice, thanks for the pics....

Re: (POST PICS) After market Seats in your car!

hello, i just bought a pair of sport seats for my car, i started the install by taking off the drivers seat and found out the factory studs dont fit the new seats brackets, i would have to drill new holes and want to know how to remove the floor pan. how many bolts is there do i have to remove the transmission mount? or is there any other easier way to install the new seats? thanks

ps. the stock seats have 4 mounts in each seat the ones that bolt to the studs which if i were able to remove i could bolt them up to the new slider brackets and use the stock studs. where can i find those "mounts"

Gents: This is what can set your car apart from the run of the mill third gens out there. A good interior will retain the value (if not grow it) of your car better than a lot of things.

This is my next big expense.

Re: (POST PICS) After market Seats in your car!

hey just looking at your seats, they are very nice, but do you have any trouble with them going back and forth? the set i have got a knob that turns and it is sticking out where the seat belt is, so just wondering if you might have any suggestions.
