Car: 87 IROC-Z, 82 Pace Car
I had an 88 Sport Coupe years ago with the V8. The car was mint with 19k miles when I got it. I replaced the hood and the funky rear spoiler with the IROC hood and spoiler. The body shop charged me around $600 to install and paint a new hood, remove the old spoiler, fill the holes and install/paint the rear deck and spoiler from an 85 IROC and paint the light pockets the correct black. My car looked like a Z28, but I left the Camaro badging on the car. I liked the way that car looked. You're off to a good start, but I like the red/silver look from when you first started.

First Off, I have to say this. Did you run out of paint on the Ground FX????
Second, get out a hair blow dryer and heat up the GAY stripe above the GRD FX and it will pull right off.... makes the car look a lot cleaner!

I agree exactly with the last post. Stickers are GAY, and finish painting the rear ground effects!! Then stop doing stuff to the car and just enjoy it. You are on the brink of going too far...

ok first off, I made my own connectors, using those Male/Female connectors you can buy @ Radio Shack.

if I take off that stripe around the body, there is no way in hell my factory 13 year old paint will match. it has to have faded by now.

And the middle pics of the ground effects make the fade look ****ty. they have been touched up since then, look @ the last pic, it goes back a little further.I have considered painting all the GFX red, but I think the fact that it's silver in the rear of the sides and back makes my car diff from the rest. I prolly will paint the rest red, I didn't before because the weather was still cold, now it's because I'm broke.

Well i must say the black paint behind my stripe was the EXACT same color as the rest of the car (Imagine That!!!). Also, i think that even if it was faded a little, it would look good with your F*&*ED up Ground FX.... they would kinda match.. anyway, its cool to be different. Keep up the GREAT IDEAS on custom painting

i saw it once on a '89 RS w/ 92 ground effects, and it was beautiful. sorry mine isn't as good. it's not professional. it was my best attempt.. i like the stripe because it's a break in the otherwise all red car in the front, but in the silver it's a seperator. i wish I could get my pics done to show everyone better pics of now. I'm really proud of the hood and deck "heritage" stripes, because I did them myself. soon.

importsrsloths, i have been wanting to do all the ground effects red, because the striping looks a bit wierd, but I also considered fading the stripes on the hood from black to silver on the hood then silver on the rear, to have a "fading colors" theme as the ground effects have it. the black stripe would go good on the front with the red gfx, and silver in the rear would match the silver gfx. I never did it though. but black stripes look a bit wierd in back.

my horse died...
well hell, usually when you ask for a opinion , you get one, but hell, I sure wouldn't be that rude do someone. I remember a while back people gave mike harvey crap about his 'bird and it's chrome trim, but nobody called the FACTORY styling on it gay. they said it looked ghetto with the chrome trim, as in a reference to latinos and the impala/lowrider scene. and yes I am latino, and yes I have a '66 impala. granted it ain't been outta the garage in a year and a half, but it runs.

I was only upset because he thinks the factory styling on my 3rd gen and obviously a few million other 3rd gens is gay. but then why does he own one. wow the moderators need to check out this one, it lost it's weak "tech" part of the whole topic a long time ago.

You have asked for it now.....
I have an '88 Jet Black Iroc Z (not a sport coupe lol) that I paid $5000 for so it has no dents dings etc. Basically the exterior looks A HELL OF A LOT BETTER than your red SC (your car would look ten times better if you finished painting the GRD FX and took off the stripe, TRUST ME)
As for the Engine: LOL I dont really even want to go there..... I have a 305 TPI 5speed and i personally ported and polished the manifold runners and plenum... and i just put Headers, 3" Ypipe, 3" high flow catco, 3" hooker catback....

SlowCamaro88SC:
By the way, you asked to talk about my car
what do you drive a horrid berlinetta, or a ragged out S/E? c'mon, i dare you, be a d`ck.

Heres what i have to say, FU*K YOU! I was just trying to give you some friendly advice.... cuase i actually like your car becuase it is different, and has that spoiler. Best looking SC ive seen.

importsrsloths...
is my car that bad for a $2700, 49,000 mile car?

now it has 79,000.

hey, I will keep the stripe (for now), but I will finish the ground effects. I've been wanting to. I'm just trying to find a set of matching rocker panel emblems. My "Camaro" one on the driver's size is busted beyond recognition, and I don't care if it says camaro, z/28 or iroc, I'm just trying to find a matching set to stick on it. I like the stripe. If I were to repaint my camaro, or an iroc, I'd ditch the IROC-Z emblem on the door, but keep the stripe around the body. I like it. But for a t/a, no striping whatsoever.

sorry for being a jerk guys. been a hard week.

It was more unique before you starting changing things... Iroc wheels are ok, everything else is pointless.

hey but it only cost me $60! If I do actually put money into a new paint job for my car, I'll fix it. it's basically fiberglass anyway. (SMC) After all it's just a 6. If it were something better, I'd have fixed it last year. Believe me I would have.

i don't see anything wrong with a berlinetta, lol, i had an '82 berlinetta (i just sold it couple weeks ago), was considerably faster than my '91 rs, though it was quite a bit more modded out (355, 3sp, shift kit, edlebrock performer carb/manifold, msd ignition, custom dual exhaust with dual flow mufflers, electric fan, headers, blah, blah, etc, etc).

<img src=http://darklighter.50megs.com/pic/car3.jpg>
<img src=http://darklighter.50megs.com/pic/car8.jpg>

engine comparment is horrid, that pic is like a yr old before i did some more stuff to it and cleaned it up, but now it's gone, sold for almost nothing cause i joined th enavy and bought a new project car ('91 camaro rs, heavily modded 305, soon to be a 383 with blower, bunch of other stuff in the works).

first of all the only effect those ground fx have is pain to my eyes, the iroc z wheels are alright but i would be keeping momo in mind those would probably go well w/ that viper turned ***** stripe. The ansewer to which stage is the best, neither i havent seen one yet with a sledge hammer taken to your almighty TBI, LMAO
i would rather take the firce and fire like muti port, well probably nothing involving a v6...V8 with the HOLLEY btw have a little respect for you and your sc and dont tell no one you are sporting a 6....I like that berllie on this post good work

this is my econo-car. I don't live @ home, but in my parents garage (huge 5-6 car garage in back) There is my '66 impala, which isn't going anywhere intill I have a HOUSE and funds, and right next to it is a '86 IROC that me and my father picked up for $500 last year, it's all original, and all it needs is the motor rebuilt (water got in motor) it only has 17,000 on it. In '88 it was in a flood, and only the front end was on it (was parked on a hill) And the motor was locked then. The owner didn't care about it, he was well off, the car was for his kid, but he chose to go off to Seton Hall instead of somewhere closer to the Milwaukee area, and so the car sat. In fact it sat in a garage from 88-98. then they didn't want it in the garage so it sat outside in the sun from the spring of '98 to the spring of '00. My dad and I got it for $500, and the int. it perfect, it even smells new yet, the paint has worn down to primer on some of the roof and rear deck, and of course the motor is froze. the body is 100% perfect like when it rolled off the line and it's a great car.

<img src= "http://www.nconnect.net/~briones/irocz.jpg">

this will be the car that I'll soup up. My '88 has rust and dents and dings, and a 2.8 behind it, whereas the iroc had every option except t-tops. And a 305 TPI (peanut) behind it. The IROC is a must better canvas to start out with.

um ok..

I was refering to the CAMSHAFT
the 85' 305 TPI had the L98 cam
the '86 305 TPI had the "peanut" cam
'87 on 305 TPI w/ 5 speed had the L98 cam
'86 on 305 TPI AUTO had the "peanut" cam

fat86er, learn how to read sigs.

my camaro doesn't have TBI dumbass
it's a 2.8 V6. Multi-Port EFI. 135 horse. it's weak. it's slow, it sucks. All I was saying was that the IROC would be better to beef up than my 2.8 camaro. you are an idiot.

btw what's lmoa

Laughing My Off A$$ ??????

idiot.

and how is that a VIPER turned ***** racing stripe? it's the same damn thing as the heritage stripes, except they are closer to accomodate for the air inlets on the hood, and they extend to the nose.
I'd rather get criticism from ImportsRsloths. At least he makes sense, isn't an idiot, and his sentences are cohesive. bravo to you.

ok, i think that you should first of all paint the ground effects all red, get rid of the stripe all the way around the gfx, and finally paint your taillights all red using a mixture of candy apple red and a clear coat the way kandiedz28 did (sp?). sweet car...
