I think I have finally found a set of wheels

I have been searching for months for the perfect set of rims. I have a mint black 88 camaro. I was first leaning towards the first set of rims, that being the black z06 rims, but then I had to buy 4 spacers which added up quickly.
The set I am leaning towards now is a set of torq thrust, which I don't believe need spacers (anyone know for sure) and they are chrome instead of black. Any suggestions would be great to make my decision easier

Re: I think I have finally found a set of wheels

My only comment is that the American Racing ones look just like stang rims. Not sure if you care but I know if I had them around here I'd get a-hole comments from every mustang owner. Sorry if that's not really what you want to hear. Good luck picking!

Re: I think I have finally found a set of wheels

The second style does look to much like Rustang wheels, and I pretty much don't care for "rims". I can't wait to put my stock wheels back on. (the previous owner gave us the stock wheels, with "rims" on the car)

yeah you make a good point about the mustang wheels. I may consider the corvette rims, only if I can get a good deal on some spacers, they can get very pricy

The American racing rims were/are a classic muscle car design that's been around forever. They are NOT a mustang design, although current mustangs DO have that style as an option. Only a poser newbie stang owner would dare claim it as a "mustang" design. ...they ARE however, very common nowadays, and I know a lot of people don't like 'em because they're so common among ALL muscle cars nowadays. They still look good though.

I agree, they are very nice don't get me wrong, tho I would like them better on a 1st or 2nd gen. Like I said I (myself) wouldn't get them because of the crap I'd get from losers around my college and also that I don't care for them on my car. My comment was only to point out that he will mostlikly get told this in the 1st week if not the 1st day that they are on because they are seen as stang rims by most people. Over all, joeblue my advice is the same as I live by and that is you are the one driving the car, what do you want?

Also Abubaca, I live in a area with a lot of posers and even more stangs. my college has about 50+ stangs in the parking lot not even jokeing.

Re: I think I have finally found a set of wheels

They are not junk. They have passed my Approval withstanding extreme speeds and fast turns. Donuts drifting burnouts you name it they have not broken. If i remember ive seen a picture of a spacer/adapter that was in a curb accident and the wheel bent not the spacer which was still on the hub.

To each his own, but in saying that I would go with the Z06 rims, cuz, well, I love those rims and if i had the dough thats what I would put on my corners.

Rustangs copied the classic Torq-Thrust design....

You can get the Torque-Thrust Ms, with black spokes....

On the subject of the Torq Thrust wheels:

This is the first picture for me to post of my car.
1982 Trans Am with engine and deck lid off an '85.
It has aluminum American Racing Torq Thrust wheels that my dad bought from JC Penny in 1967 for $120 for the set.
IMO this is the best look.

I disagree, they look like they would fit a MINI cooper(the old ones.) The sidewall of the tire helps them seem larger though.

Yeah they do look small but I still love them.
I would like to get a set of 18" C5 Z06 wheels though.
