Anyone have this hood?
Does anyone have this hood? Post pictures if you have them! Are there any issues with it? How is the quality & the finish? I'm thinking about pullin the trigger & getting one for my vert!
I got a response from an Email I sent to Driven By Style LLC (seller of the hood) & they say that you should use hood pins along with the latch. Not really liking the idea of pins. Car is not a d.d. and is used for shows & short cruses (100 miles or less)are they really necessary? Do you guys use hood pins on you glass hoods?
ANY IMPUT would be appreciated! THANKS, jnman

Re: Anyone have this hood?
pins are a good idea with any glass hood because they are all a 2pc design (except the pin on ones), so they are glued together and they have the possibility of delaminating.

Re: Anyone have this hood?
Spend a little more, buy from a reputable seller & you won't have any worries about delamination of 'glass hoods. Not from some company that invents a new "fiberglass" & calls it Duraflex.

Re: Anyone have this hood?
but i agree, go with a name brand hood, the cheap ones have issues with the threaded parts tearing out. I would say stick with VFN Harwood or glassteck

again, it doesnt matter who you buy it from, they are all glued together and can possibly delaminate. the pins are for safety

I have a spare 3" Cowl Induction fiberglass hood from Harwood that has never had hood pins & I will never put pins in it. If I wants pins, I'll sell this one & buy the lightweight, pin-on version.
I had one from http://www.extremecomposites.com/ A relatively small place that started in making fiberglass parts for aircraft, so he knows his stuff about building fiberglass parts that can withstand strong forces & vibration. Had one on my truck I used to have & never questioned its strength.
I'm just saying....Some places cut corners, some places don't. Those who cut corners & know their products are not high quality, tell you to use hood pins.
I haven't seen their video.

Re: Anyone have this hood?
I bought a Duraflex SS Hood just like the one shown above.... that Hood was such Garbage lol. The body lines wasn't straight and needed way too much body work to deal with..... I sold it and currently looking for other ideas.
If you want any suggestions? Don't buy Duraflex.
