Car started out as 305TPI/700r4 combo. Drove around for about 2 years before I started the swap in 2015. For various reasons, some of my own sabotaging, the build took longer than expected. I also went through great pains to keep the engine bay as clean as I could and hide stuff, thus resulting in more time thinking and less doing. Also at the time, I wanted it to be the lightest yet stock appearance. Car weighs about 2855 without driver.

Re: March 2021 COTM "Got Boost???" **Voting Thread**

Thanks for the nomination!

Car was originally a 87 formula 350 TPI car that I picked up for $500 not running. Got it running and drove it for a few years and then pulled the 350 TPI for a built 383 HSR and a new built 700r4, thousands of dollars invested and 3 months after completing the swap (still tuning it) the car was stolen and gutted. I got the car back a week later, some mourning for a few weeks and decided to make the engine so big and hard to get out that they would have to cut the car apart making it not worth the time! I stuffed in a 521 cuin BBF custom fabbed everything and it was fun for a few years to say the least. Things got crazy with gas prices and I wanted to be able to enjoy the car more (and starting a family) so I decided to pull the 521 and swap in a 5.3 LS with a torque storm supercharger which was fantastic as I was still able to knock down 20mpg in the car cruising and had the boost to make the same power of the BBF. A few years passed and I wanted to be able to get more boost (I was maxing out the torque storm with there smallest pulley of 3" and about 10-12psi boost) so I decided to pull the supercharger and go with a turbo setup. I run a modified CX racing kit now and the car is an absolute blast to drive. I drive it all the time (warm weather) back and forth from CT to NJ and have been really enjoying the car and the 20mpg I get on the highway. This will probably be the final setup for the car unless I decide to go bigger on the motor like a stroker etc.

Power output - No dyno sheets but I have 1/4 mile on my speedo and I use my data-logs to track power via injector duty cycle
Im able to max out my 72lb injectors (98% duty cycle) on 93 pump at 15-16psi which puts me at 750hp
Normal 10-13psi puts me in the 80"s % which is in the 600 range.
Best speed hut gauge 1/4 mile is 11.9s @ 120mph but was having traction issues goosing it on the street in first and 2nd and I was letting out early bc that's FAST on a no lights non straight road in the dark lol oh and that was on 10-13psi.

I drive this car to work, to the food store, take my son to school in it. It has fantastic street manners and gets awesome gas mileage. It see's daily long range trips 180+ miles in 1 day going to visit family in NJ. This is by far the most fun I've had in the car and I love the process of getting here and changing things.

Video of the car pre the 4" catback which I just installed this past summer.

Video after the 4" sinister catback was installed, you can also see the trail lights in this one.
