Ok where can i get a new set of doorlocks and ignition key for my car i called the dealer and they cant do it anymore. lost my keys and im **** out of luck.

Most auto stores can get new ignition locks. Otherwise go to a junkyard.

call a lock smith and have them come to your house or go to him. it will be a lot less work and might even be cheaper.

Did you have the punch code when you went to the dealer? I don't see why they couldn't have ordered a set made for you.

Or was it that since you didn't have the punch code, they can't look the code up to have keys made?

Door locks you can get from anyone. They are really easy to just swap the cores. Since our door keys are diffrent from the ignition anyway you will be fine. Don't forget to get the hatch one too if you go that route. The ignition key could also be gotten the same way, buy the core and a key and have it installed. I had it done on the firebird when I first got it(it was a police auction car). It was $40 to have the new ignition core installed including the core.

Not too long ago I thought I had lost my keys as well and I went to the dealer and they said they couldn't make me a copy using my VIN either, however they did say they could sell me a new cylinder and keys for $40 but it would cost $300 to install which is BS I would of just done it myself. Then I called a few locksmiths and one was able to get me my door and hatch key using my VIN but it appeared that my ignition had already been changed and the ignition key failed to work. They were gonna charge me somewhere around $200 for a new ignition key. Luckily I did a last look around for my keys and found them and the next day I made me two extra sets...of which I've already lost one =/

$200 bucks is a rip off. At the police auction a locksmith did mine on the spot for $40 including the lock core...took him about 5 min to pull apart the steering column and swap them.

Yeah I know its pretty ridiculous and that was the cheapest one I found. Then again I also live in the middle of Los Angeles nothing is cheap here.

Second that. When I bought my car the door locks didn't work, and the lock opening on the hatch lock was messed up, but it worked. Purchased new door and hatch locks, then took them to a locksmith to have them re-keyed to match the t-top locks. He said that I had should have brought it too him first, he could have fixed them all with new keys for cheaper, including fixing the hatch lock.

When I bought my first camaro, the only door key I got was very badly worn, and a poor copy to start with, so had you had to play with it to unlock the doors. I took it to the lock smith and he told me that he could take out the cylender and that he could get the keycode off of it, or do somthing to make a good copy with it. As far as the ignition goes, I think your just screwed.

Lost the keys to my 89 rs yesterday and after reading this thread, I thought I was screwed. But I pulled my camaro file and found the knock-outs they gave me when I bought the car. Can't believe I actually kept it in a safe place over 30 years so I'm getting many copies made.

Went through this, basically no dealer can lookup the key's any longer. So even if you have the code no GM dealer can deal with it.

Some lock smiths can cut a key based on the codes, but not many, I had to try 3 before I found someone. Most will want to replace the entire lock set.

I got 50% lucky. I have the key's for my doors and Ign, so I had the lock smith cut the keys. Turns out while the code for my doors worked, someone replaced the ignition at a previous point in the cars live, so the code for my IGN key was no good, ended up having to install a new ign cylinder.

This is the most pertinent thread I can find so I guess I'll revive it. Looking for door, t-top, rear hatch and cargo locks. Preferably keyed alike or a Locksmith to make keys for mine. I can find replacements but not complete keyed alike sets. I find they're for 1982, or 1985 and later. What's the difference between years, whats the difference between "later key 470, 442, 445, etc" ? Or they advertise them but don't actually have the t-top locks. If you know of a Locksmith in Northern Ohio who could make keys that would be easiest. Thanks
P.S. I had to replace the ignition lock (I have that key) and the t-tops years ago and never had the key for those or the doors.

Honestly, your only real bet is a lock smith if you want them all to match.

Or, find a junk yard car they have the key's to and strip the lock cylinders out of said car.
