when I bought my 4th gen seats(used but mint)
it didnt come with the seatbelt guide.

so I bought the seatbelt guide off hawk3rdgen

I thought it would be a snap to take the seatbelt off just like the
rear one.. but front one seems impossible to take off
there's a bolt retaining the buttom part,
and I used a starwrench and it keeps slipping.. almost looks like its welded in
to the car or something?

any1 know a good way to remove the seatbelt temporary?
just the front ones... my car is a 91 RS,
if that matters.

did you use the right torx bit? i believe it's a t-55 or t-57 i cant remember it's been awhile. they're in there really good i broke a 5 bits taking out those four. (front and back) I replaced them with a hex head for easier removal should i decide to remove them for some reason in the future.

They are on there very tight, and that's for a good reason. 87CIZ is right, it's either a T-55 or T-57. You need to get the right size otherwise you will either break the bit or strip the bolt, both of which you don't want to do.

I recommend going out and getting a decent torx bit set, as that will save you time and effort. As far as getting that bolt out, get the proper size bit and a little elbow grease, and it should loosen up.

yeah, I do have a brand new set of torx bit..it wasnt star wrench, my bad.

i used a 47 t50 was a bit too big.
with an extension since the cover's on the way, I jsut keep slipping,
and my wrench tip kinda stripped a little bti, so I didnt wanna keep trying..

if I remove the buttom assembly though,
after that can I get just the belt out easily so I can put the guide in?

even iff you got the reciever off the bottom, there is no way to get the guide on around it. you only have one option here. you see how there are two holes on the guide for screws. ? cut the guide right between them, slide it on around the seat belt and screw it into the seat. problem solved.

Just a heads-up. Those bolts are loctited (blue) in. Atleast mine were, I just removed the interior of my car a couple of days ago. They were a little stiff, and the driver's side bolt head showed some stripping after some torqueing, but they will come out.

on my 4th gen camaro seats i just reused the stock thirdgen guide. it screwed into place no problem. come to think of it it may have been a t-47 i thought it was an odd size. anyway give your thirdgen guides a go and see what you think.

which I don erally wanna do..

The CORRECT torx bit for GM seatbelts (including 3rdgens) is a T-47
