Outer Door Window Weather Sweep Seal?

I was looking through Modern Day Muscle and was like WOW they have all sorts of crazy oddball parts, but their seal for the outer window is $65. Is that worth it at all? I REALLY need a pair, and was going to go by sum yards to see if i could find any decent ones..

Anyone dealt with MDM? are they honest and do they have good products?

Or Should I go with Hawks?

Camaro/Firebird 82-92 New GM Outer Door Window Felt Strip L - $39.

Anyone have any experience with either of these? Are they the originals and will they bolt up? Are they quality?

Personally, I'd go with the GM ones. I have no experience with the other type, but you cant go wrong with the GM original ones..

Check eBay for them...I bought mine off of there from 1A Auto. Parts were of good quality. I wrote about them and the install process in the Parts Review section of this website. Cheaper than GM, too.

I just bought a pair from gmpartsdirect . com. They were 65 shipped to me. I think they are 24$ each plus the "shipping" costs. Made my freshly painted car look much newer, without brittle 14 yr old ones on there.

Can't recall off the top of my head. I can check, but just search for seller 1A Auto on Ebay and look in their online store.

I paid $39/each plus $10 shipping for authentic GM seals from Hawks Thirg Generation:
4264-WS, Camaro/Firebird 82-92 new GM outer window felt strip, right
4265-WS, Camaro/Firebird 82-92 new GM outer window felt strip, left

They bolted right up, fit perfectly, seal perfectly against the glass & inner strip and look great on my '88 IROC-Z.

Yep bolt up is the literal deal.

Once the inner door trim was removed, the window lowered, the triangle guide loosened and the front top weather strip pealed back, about half of the small bolts could be accessed with a 1/4" socket, the other half required use of an open-end wrench.

Also it was necessary to move the two felt anti-rattle pads that press against the window on top of the inner door.

Yes, thats what ya do...Man tho it is a pain, at least it was for me...PLUS sometimes you have to slighty modify the holes in the new ones, each door is just a little different, no big deal really, but I like to complain....LOL....It looks SO sweet when they are done......Mine looked so bad to begin with all broken, and cracked...Sure does compliment new paint....

Also got mine from Hawks, actual GM parts. Install was as described above. Not a big job but tedious. Gives a nice finished look to the car compared to the busted up seals that I had. Seems like a lot of money for this crap though.

Check sig...

And I have bought the JCWhitney w/seal before.
It contributed itself as a little extra fill at the dump.

Well if you spread the referb cost across the life of the seals it isn't bad at all and really makes a diff in appearance.

Now, even with the windows down the outer & inner seals touch for a nice sealed look, sweet.

Gees, I even just replaced my old ratty hood liner and now I'm proud to open the hood it looks so nice...

You will be glad you did it.......Couldnt find the number tho, but I just went to the GM dealer, and ask for the part, they looked it up...Lots of times they will knock off on the price if you ask...It is just in their way, cuz it is old...Tom
