'91-'92 Aero Spoiler Mounting?

A couple months ago I purchased a '91-'92 Aero Spoiler for my '91 Firebird and am just now getting around to mounting it. I currently have the base model spoiler on there which mounts with two bolts on each side that line up with each other. I've noticed that the Aero Spoiler bolts are diagonal from each other. I have read on this board somewhere that one of the bolt holes that already exists will line up with the Aero Spoiler but that I will have to make the holes for the other two bolts.

A couple questions. What is the best way to go about marking the spots for the two holes that I will have to drill? I don't want to mess up and end up with a bunch of holes in the deck lid. Second, do I just drill the holes? Is there anything I should know before I start in on this project? Does the Aero Spoiler use the same size bolts as the spoiler on there now or will I need to purchase new bolts and if so, what size?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I used masking tape. Even if you mess up and HAVE to drill 2nd or 3rd holes , the spoiler pedestals cover most of the hatch lid anyway.

Thanks for that advice. As for my other questions ... does it use the same bolts and did I read correctly that the aero spoiler utilizes one of the existing bolt holes from the base model spoiler?
