ok i found a body kit on a trans am, it looks kinda like a testorosa kit. It goes up about 12 inches from ground up. And goes all the way around the car. it looks cool and i am thinking of getting it. Has anyone heard of it? Or have any pics?
Its the Kobel Predator Kit. Its on ly car currently (although im taking it off shortly...). I dont have the pieces for either the front or the back, but i have the sides on the car currently. They go all the way up to the door molding.
Ill see if i can attach some pics.
They sit low enough that they fit perfectly if you have TA bumpers front and back, with the GFX from a TA on the fenders and quarters. That was my plan until i decided to put stock TA pieces all around...
FWIW it used to be sold in the JC Whitney catalogs, lol...
I really wouldnt put the front and back pieces on your Trans Am, personally. It would mean getting a Firebird bumper cover, and losing your foglights. Thats why i mentioned only using the sides. Same with the rear end. The rear of the kit looks like it has a fat ***. The TA covers are much nicer.
NY isnt that bad of a drive... I made it in half a day, lol. How much you looking to spend?
Well this car has the full kit and the rear looks good cause its black. and it has that firebird front end with Fog lights under it. I think it looks good. Spending? Right now i don't have alot of money. I am getting this kit here cause its maybe 5 mins from my house and its cheap. What would you be looking to get out of yours.
If you want the whole kit, his is the way to go... especially being local. Theres no way to make it worthwhile to both of us with shipping from NY. I certainly wouldnt even be in the ballpark, lol.
Hey guys, I noticed this thread and just wanted to share a project i've been working on for some time now. Started off of a 91 Pontiac Firebird Formula. Added a couple thousand pounds of clay and designed/ sculpted a full body kit, for 3rd gen camaros and firebirds. ATM its in the Fiberglass Mould process.
That is REALLY nice work! Would you PM me with updates on this?

I used to have this setup on a Camaro I owned years ago. I purchased it (along with a Daytona turbo hood and unique spoiler) from JC Whitney. I wish I had pictures of it.. They're somewhere..
ANYWAY. I had the front, sides and rear pieces.. This was back in the early 90s so it was fairly unique - though a friend of mine had it on his Firebird back in the late 80s..
Just an FYI - I had a shop do the work and they said there was a lot of heating up and molding to be done in order to get it to sit properly. And, the side door pieces were a little wavy. It didn't look bad because the car was a very light color. I think it would have looked bad in dark paint.
It's not for everybody but I always thought it looked good.. I ended up trading that Camaro (v6 2.8) for an '87 with a Corvette drive-train. It was kinda cool doing high 13s in a Camaro back then..

Cool yeah it'll be a while from being done, and probably break my wallet but I'd definetly like to keep it going and post some progress pics along the way. Those mirrors are a prototype i developed in a 3-D modeling program. Just a one off i had printed in ABS plastic

Another HUGE thumbs up on that one. Do you have any concept sketches of how this will look when complete? Your level of skill and quality of work are very impressive.

Are you planning on creating a kit that you would resell or will this be a one-off?
Ya...that kinda looked cool...anyone have updates?
I emailed the guy a while ago and he said he had to sell the car and abandon the project for lack of funds. He still has the molds so maybe one day we will see a finished car
