Hood repair

Im looking at buying this IROC and other than this one area it is in flawless condition. Just curious if anyone has any idea what this will cost to repair? Is this something I could do myself?

Re: Hood repair

I'm not sure, you probably want a body shop to fix that and different location body shop would say a different price. If the guy is nice ask him to go get it priced for repair, I've know people that have done that before they'd buy the car and the owner would do it to sell it.

Re: Hood repair

Thought of pricing a new hood.
Depending on what you want to do with it, now would be a good time for a cowl, or just get a stock if you want.

Re: Hood repair

Hey, Im more than happy to give you the business if you think $614 plus tax will cover it. I just wonder why the hood seems to stick out more than its supposed to. It just doesnt appear like the seem is right (where the hood and nose meet--overlaps) yet the nose looks good/undamaged (??).

What body shop in Puyallup?

My hood does the same after it bumped another car last year. Does the space between the hood and the fender seem to be increase as you get closer to the front?

Re: Hood repair

There are adjustments for the hood. The front to rear adjustment can be made either at the hinge to hood, or hinge to body. I forget off the top of my head. But if the hood sits to far forward, you may be able to fix that yourself.

Yes it does. I just think there is more than hood repair here.

Yea, when I got mine painted I told the guy I wanted mine fix. he said "No problem" then when pick it up the hodd was still the same. said that it would cost some money and time to fix and that he had done the thing with the bolt and the space was a little smaller. i'm going to mostlikly get the GM dealer to fix it. Cost more money but I know it will be done correctly.
P.S. Anyone in Georgia, Alanta area don't go to spraglo for your paint job I need to write up a review.
