window motor?

The passenger side window suddenly will not go up, but it will go down just fine. WHen you try to put it up the lights dim and sometimes the pump re-primes (with the car off and key on). Is this typical signs of the power window motor going? I doubt it is wiring as the other works fine and i have not touched or disturbed anything and i checked the harness attachment to the motor.

Re: window motor?

Might want to check the regulator and guide tracks the window moves in - maybe a bad roller or bent guide is keeping it from moving. Otherwise, search for the thread on "window motor ... bogus" and follow that - makes the install very easy, and it works great!

Re: window motor?

HI Eddie,

I'd get a test light and test the down power from the switch to the motor to make sure it's not the switch.

If it has power going to the motor, then the motors gone bad.

Here's a link to our window motor section too incase you need one.

Re: window motor?

thanks for the replies guys. I thought about it more and realized i had a spare switch, so i tried that this morning and no different. I then used a meter and am not getting 12v on the "up" wire at the motor and the lights still dim with the motor disconnected when pushing "up", so there must be some sort of ground between the switch and the motor on that wire only.
