ok dumb question involing fog lights

Is there a difference between the left, and right? I took my fog lights out when I got my car painted, and now they don't look right, and Ive tried them both ways, and cant decide which way is right? I tried searching but came up with nothing, and even looking at pics but they don't help much.....any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
