3rd gen stripes
I've seen a lot of 3rd gens on the board with the striping removed.
Is there an easy way to do it? I can't afford a repaint, but I sure would like to get those stripes of the car.
Any info would help

If your talking about decal striping, just use a heat gun or hair dryer.

Yes, use a heat gun to soften it.If your lucky most of it will peel off, then you can use turps or similar to remove the adhesive residue.Turps shouldn't hurt your paint but test it
on a hidden spot first.Don't have the heat gun too close.

Re: 3rd gen stripes
I am in the process of prepping for a respray. I found a "magic wheel" (3M wax wheel for your drill) that took off the striping today pretty quickly without a heat gun and didn't damage the paint. Only thing to be cautious of: the factory red under the stripes looked, well factory. Next to the old shitty paint you could see a clear difference. Depending on how good or bad the rest of your paint job is, you might want to keep the stripes.
