Stiffer brake lines?
I've read a few threads about replacing stock rubber brake lines with braided steel for a stiffer feel and it'll last longer. I can't really find a definite answer on whether its acceptable for a daily driver or a worthy investment. If so, are there any preferred brands and places to order?

They're definitely worth the money. I went with the Earl's lines too, and got them from Summit. I've heard bad things about the fittings used on Russell lines so you should probably stay away from those.
I believe the Earl's lines are even DOT approved.
