I already have 4th gen rear with pbr's or I have to order separate brake lines for front and rear.
Thanks.

Re: LS1 brake swap - braided lines

ls1 rear brakes use longer hoses than the 3rd gen, so to use them properly, you need the proper 4th gen rear hoses.

Re: LS1 brake swap - braided lines

Will front braided lines from this kit above(link) work for LS1 front brake swap. I already have 4th gen rear with pbr's and I will keep it. Only changing fronts.

Re: LS1 brake swap - braided lines

Ask http://bigbrakeupgrade.com/contact.html He has always responded in the same day.

I asked about reusing the braided hoses I currently have on my stock brakes & his response was:
"The hardline side of your hoses are 10mmx1.0 female bubble flare and the caliper side should be a banjo 10mm....the actual bolt that goes into the caliper thru the banjo is a 10mmx1.5. Your hoses would cross over to the C5 kit, the banjo bolts are a different thread (10mmx 1.0) but are supplied with the kit. The hoses you have are going to be too short to use on a LS1 kit."

I also about about LS1 vs C5 upgrades:
" A lot of the decision is usually dependent on the wheels on the car, but if your an open ticket I would suggest the C5 for a few reasons...
  • Pressure cast calipers vs. the LS1 gravity cast (less chance of caliper bridge spread)
  • Larger diameter rotors have more leverage vs smaller
  • C5 rotors are left and right specific with curved vents that advance the airflow through the rotor more effectively
  • Caliper clocking and abutment bolt spread allow the retention of the spindles stock steering stop
  • Many bolt on options for the base setup including all C5 variants and all C6 variants 12.75, 13.4, 14 inch rotors and 2- 6 piston calipers plus CTS-V brembo`s bolt on.
The LS1 has it`s advantages as well..
  • Fits under a typical 16 inch wheel
  • Larger width rotor than other stock type 16 inch rim capable upgrades
  • Expense to performance ratio
  • Bolt on options of 2010+ Camaro brake parts (with minor modifications and wheel size increase)

Both base kits as you can see can be up-fitted if needed and both offer advantages the other cannot. I would be happy to help you with which ever you choose."

Re: LS1 brake swap - braided lines

that helps. so in order to use the ls1 calipers, i would need actual ls1 hoses? will those work with the stock hard lines?
