American Sedan Race Car Brake Pic
Guys:
Was at the shop doing a rotor change getting ready for the SCCA Majors race at Mid Ohio this weekend and thought that the brakes made a cool pic. I built this set up my self and really turned out nice. You can also see the new Detroit Speed struts on the car along with a bunch of other racy bits if you look close.

Re: American Sedan Race Car Brake Pic
Thanks. Crazy amount of work to get these 3rd Gens competitive against those G*D D*M new Mustangs. I will post some other pics of the car. BMW club let me do some testing with them last Friday and I must admit a love passing GT3s and Turbo Porsche's with my 1991 Camaro that I built in my garage. The SCCA rules limit everything we can do but that is kind of what makes it fun.

Digging sway bar setup fully adjustable looks like it hangs inch or 2 lower

Re: American Sedan Race Car Brake Pic
Sway bar was this winter's big project. Needed more roll stiffness and that was the only way to get it. It turned out really nice. Crazy number of choices. The car was much better at the MidOhio Majors. Qualified third and finished fourth. Got a horrible start but our lap times were within .4 seconds of the winner so we are close. Lost 9 seconds in the first 3 laps and then maintained pace and finished 9 seconds off the lead. Few more tweeks. Next race is Watkins Glen. Really love that place. Very fast.

Did you install the struts, yourself?
What inserts did you try, and what was your thinking/findings for trying different ones?

I do almost everything myself on the car. It is my creation with a bunch of help from others. The struts are the new JRI Detroit Speed parts. Very nice crazy light. Had a couple teething issues but mainly a result of the car being too low and me not having them setup right.
They worked very well at Road America a couple of weeks ago.

I have run custom valved Bilsteins and the DSE. I think for the price the Bilsteins are amazing. Heavy but totally bullet proof and you can get the valved how you like them for the most part. Not adjustable which is a downside.

Re: American Sedan Race Car Brake Pic
I have a 87 third gen streetable, but not by much, I have the C6 Z06 brakes and am looking for cooling ducts since i'm going to Fontana soon.
Do you have rotor temps before and after?
Do the rears warrant rear ducts?
I see your struts and have been wondering how to get away from the standard stuff along with the sway bar, nice, very nice.
Maybe you can PM me your phone number for a chat, your ahead of me, right where I think I need to be I will take all the pics of the ducting struts and sway bar you have, I fight for rear bite as well, I run 1 ford 9 inch floater with the standard trailing arms and a home built torque arm that does mount off the crossmember.
Wow Thanks,
Dennis

ALERT
Phil,
You got some 'splainin' to do!!
Please share some news (maybe in the suspension sub-forum).
What improvements have you been working on? - not-so-secret sauce reveals.
How 'bout a press release of what's been goin' on.
You've been doin' us proud!
Thanks,
Brian
