Proportioning valve: Does anyone know the stock spring load?
Hi,
According my home made test, the spring load @ deflection 0.62 in. for my stock proportioning valve spring is around 10.7 Lbs.
It's O.K. ?
My car is rear disc brakes with 9 bolts rear axle.
Thanks

That's probably somewhere in the ball park. My own estimates with an NB code unit ('86-'89 J65 brakes) was 9.8 lbs compressed. You might have done a better job than me measuring spring rate.

I also think you're the first person in the history of this forum to ever be smart enough to ask that question!
People always focus on spring rates but really the only thing that matters is the compressed force.
