Wiring adapter, need help
I bought a CD head unit from a 97 Bonneville (for $20 it is a massive upgrade over the broken cassette deck I have) and I am trying to put it in my 88 Formula. I tested the new radio by plugging it up to my 98 TA with the Monsoon system, it worked (always a good place to start).
I bought a scoche pigtail to plug into the 88 wiring harness and am trying to connect it to the bonneville pigtail that I cut out of the car. I have all of the connections made except for the interior/dimmer. The scoche pigtail has one wire for dimmer/interior lights, the bonneville has one wire for dimmer circuit and one wire for interior. Which wire do I connect to the 88 wiring harness? What do I do with the other wire?
The pigtail that I bought stated that it was for GM 78 - 92, could this one be the wrong harness?

Ok, after actually taking the head unit out of the 88 I see the problem. The scoche wiring harness does not have a lead to the brown wire, so I made one. Plugged in, sounds GREAT even with the 88's speakers.
One additional problem though, when I turn on the park lamps the radio lights come on and the clock dimms however when I try to dim the dash lights, the radio buttons do not dim and the clock stays dim until I dim the dash lights all the way off. When the dash lights dim off, the clock goes full bright. Any one have ideas? Is this a problem with the radio, or my connection to the dimmer circuit?
