My new Kappa series 6x9s

I just got a pair of Infinity Kappa series 6x9s and have some questions.

First of all, the tweeter setup in the middle is not straight. If you look at it dead on, it appears to be rotated. This looks awful with the covers over them because the oval shaped thing in the middle doesnt match up to the oval shaped hole in the speaker cover. Are they all like this or did I get a bum set? They are both like this.

Pic of what I mean:

Second, the crossover things that they come with. I will be running JUST these two 6x9s for now, right off my Pioneer deck. No fronts, no subs, no amp. Should I still use the crossover? If not how should I hook them up?

The pod in the middle should be screwed on from behind the magnet. feel with ur finger to c if u find the hole and poke through the sticker. it should be as simple as loosening it and tightening it to where u want it.

Yes, you should use your crossover it will sound good till you get an amp...

The center pod might be supported by the speaker basket. It's certainly made to look that way instead of the older style 'floating' tweeter, which was installed as you described. I don’t see why this would be an issue if you put the fabric covers back on the sail panel – wouldn’t that hide the speakers completely?

Crossovers - you always need the crossovers. They split the audio signal between the woofer and the two tweeters. If you don't run the crossovers you will fry your tweeters pretty much instantly when they try to produce frequencies that are too low for them to play.

Thank you. The manual was confusing when it talked about installing the speakers with the crossover.

As far as the tweeter pod - there is no screw or anything on the back. You're right, it will be covered, I was just wondering.
