JVC kd-lx1

I had this cd player in my 92 RS years ago. I switched it over to my Vette since I liked it a lot. Now that I sold the vette and have the IROC.. I'd like to get another similar to it. I was actually going to keep it stock but decided I don't like the cassette radio. Are there any resources out there where I can get my hands on another one besides ebay? I checked ebay but I don't see anything. I like the flat lcd display and how the buttons hide when not using. If there is no way to get another one like this.. is there something similar?

If anyone asks.. this was probably one of the first El Kameleon versions that came out.

Re: JVC kd-lx1

I looked online some more and found a JVC KD-LX3. It is almost similar but seems they don't carry it anymore as well. Someone help me out here.

I remember those, if I'm not mistaken audiovox or maybe aiwa had a radio out exactly like that one, it was physically the same unit re-branded.

I would see it in the display at Walmart and thought it was pretty cool.

You might want to keep a tab on eBay for that, it'll show up eventually.

Re: JVC kd-lx1

does this deck have a mini screen built into it for watching movies? or is just a basic audio deck? I only ask because Best Buy carries a newer kameleon (spelling) jvc deck that does everything you mentioned with the lights going away and the black face, but has a 3 inch screen built into it as well. Another thing I noticed is its typically 500 new, but its clearance at most best buy for like 375 i believe. Maybe something worth looking into?

Yes I saw that but I'm not crazy about that one. I like the fact that the KD-lx1 has the graphic equalizer bars that move and make it attractive.

Hmm I will look under those name brands as well. Didn't realize Aiwa or Audiovox had the same thing.

Yeah, not 100% sure it was audiovox but it was the same unit because I would look at it in the display and comment how much it looked like the JVC unit.

This was around 1998 - 1999

EDIT: I'm 100% sure it was Jenson and not any of the others I mentioned, I think this is it.

Interesting. That is very much similar. Not sure if I like it since it looks a little on the cheap side compared to the JVC. I would have to see it in person. However the $160 price tag is not too bad. Might just end up getting this one if all else fails.

Re: JVC kd-lx1

Does anyone else have any other ideas? Better yet.. does anyone have the JVC unit I'm looking for that they no longer want?

Re: JVC kd-lx1

why not get a new one? sound quality has to be better for a similarly priced one, plus there are a multitude of other new features: HD Radio, aux in, ipod control, mp3 cd playing, bluetooth, etc.
I paid $100 for my JVC KD-HDW10 (supposively a budget radio) and I haven't looked back.
I did have to buy an add on that plugs into the cd changer control to add AuX-in,
but for $100 it does everything I need (I mean 3 preamp outs is just crazy).

Re: JVC kd-lx1

I guess I'm just still stuck on the old one since there are not too many cd players out there that look good in my opinion. Many of them look way too busy with dial knobs and buttons etc.. The JVC kd-lx1 just looked sleek and simple with the graphic equalizer lights etc..
