I need to raise the front driver 4x6 speaker to keep my Kappa's from hitting the internals of my dash. I raised it up enough to make it fit with some washers (I was on a time crunch), but I need more secure way of doing this.

Right now the speaker rattles on the plastic it sits on. I've searched everywhere that I can on a government network and I can't find anything. Everything seems to be an adapter of some sort.

If anyone can point me in the right direction or give me some insight on how you raised the front driver 4x6 up, I would greatly apprecaite it.

a lot of the stereo guys recommend grabbing the composite (plastic, etc) cutting boards you find at Walmart or Target and cut em out to the shape you need. Low cost, easy to find, and cut easily

Some 4x6s come with the spacer that mount between the flange and the dash. I know my old Alpines did. Once the cones sun rotted I replace them with some Memphis 4x6s. They didn't have a spacer but I reused the Alpine spacers without issue. Maybe call around to some car audio stores in the area see if they have any spacers?

I called around to every car audio place in Wichita Falls today. EVERYONE said they just take a butane torch and soften up everything underneath the dash to conform in to the speaker. Hell no!
The only other suggestion I got was to cut out the plastic and cover it with duct tape. Again, no.

I also called Alpine to get the 4x6 spacers that Fireturd is talking about. A customer service rep and a tech guy both had no idea what I was talking about, but I do know for a fact that they exist.

Well in that case you could just do what 1ADan said and make your own. It shouldn't be hard to cut a piece of wood or plastic that's 1/2" or so to give you the desired spacing.

Heres a little picture for ya , trace the pattern on a peice of osb or whatever wood you have . Self explanitory really

I swung to an independent audio store today. His advice, melt the plastic..... After a lot of talking he said hold on, and came back with a set of 4x6 spacers that came from a Clarion set a speakers. Gave them to me for free!!!

I installed them earlier today and they worked flawlessly!!!!
