Help with BOSE
Hey guys, I scored a BOSE setup, but left the head unit 'cause it had no CD player.
Now I read all these posts & I'm confused.
Can I use the BOSE speakers (all 4) with a different head unit, or do I need to get the BOSE head, then possibly run a CD changer thru it?
What are mt best options here, and your suggestions?
I would like to keep the BOSE speaker setup as it is, it least appearance wise, & don't plan to cut up the rear panel.
Will these speakers sound decent without the BOSE head unit?
I really need some help here, all suggestions welcome!
Thanks!!!!!

Yes, you can use the Bose system with an aftermarket head unit, and it should still sound about the same.
Each Bose speaker has a built-in amp. There should be four wires.....two will be the same color as the speaker wires in your car and that's where you hook them up......the other two are for power and ground.
You can directly wire up an aftermarket head unit and it will work. But you might get a little background noise, and the music will be very loud even when you turn your radio up just a small amount.
You can also buy adapters that will lower the output of the aftermarket radio to match up to the Bose system. Try doing it without the adapter first and see what you think.
You could also go on eBay and buy a Bose CD player for your car.
I know the Bose system sounds okay and all, but it would seem to me that trying to get it all into your car might not be worth the time and effort.

Thanks Chris!
I didn't know Bose made a CD player that would be compatible, I'll look & see if I can find one that will fit the opening & look fairly stock.
I kinda like the stock look, if I can get it to sound pretty good I think I'll be happy with it.
