CC QJet to regular QJet...
I have an '84 305 with a CC QJet. This is my first time messing with carb'd anything. Seems to me that it should either be carb'd, or fuelie...not a cross of the two.
I'd like to switch to a regular QJet. I'm not certain if I will loose any driveability or mileage. Will emissions be affected?
I can get a slightly used Edelbrock QJet and HEI dizzy for free. So any opinions or advice on installing those two items would be appreciated.

The free parts are a waste of money.
Keep what you've got. It may have been a "transition" system, but that doesn't make it unacceptable.

If you can't understand a CCC Qjet the regular Qjet will not be any better. The CCC Qjets are not that complicated. Plus if your vehicle has emissions control managed by the computer, that will all go haywire with the CCC carb no longer present. There are an unfortunate lot of people who switch the CCCQjet out to a regular Qjet and screw up vac routing and just about everything else.

Axle/Gears: 2.42 too high
what did it come out of? i ask because in the early years of computers the trucks used a cold start valve instead of a M/C solenoid, if it did come out of a truck or van & did not have an O2 sensor then it should be a cold start valve. if it came out of a car then it is a M/C solenoid, as far as i know all cars were C-3/C-4.
if both systems are working right, then no difference in driveability.
you could probably get a little better mileage with the swap & some tuning,. but forget about emissions unless you have access to a portable 5 gas machine & lots of time to tune along with jets & metering rods. you could also probably pick up that same mileage with some chip tuning on a C3/C4 system & still be good on emissions.

if you really want to swap to something else, then swap to TBI or TPI.

If I swap my 350 into this vehicle will the ECM be ok? I'm not sure how far the ECM plays into the fueling on this.

The 305 carb will be close enough to run decent as long as you make the following adjustment so the computer is happy:
The idle air bleed must be adjusted so you see around 30 degrees dwell with the dwell meter in 6 cylinder mode. If you do not have enough adjustment via the idle air bleed alone, you may need to uncap the idle mixture screws and adjust them too.
