CC Qjet running rich on 350
I have a rebuilt cc q-jet on my newly rebuilt 350. After setting the timing, dealing with overheating, etc, I have a carb that is running very rich. So rich that within ten minutes the cat was glowing red. Should I start by adjusting the idle mixture becuase I know it is rich, or should I diagnose the MCS? I am a student at purdue university so I will not be able to work on the car for a week or two (some of the reason this swap is taking forever) but I want to get as much figured out as I can so that when I get home I will be able to get it doen quickly.
--a side note---
is it possible to search the board yet? I did some poking around but ran out of time.

Check the new Sticky at the top of the forum for searching TGO.
You need to diagnose the problem. Are you getting an SES light? If so, find out what the computer is telling you.
Two common causes of CC q-jets running rich: 1) O2 sensor; 2) leaking fuel bowl well plugs.
Make that 3: Ignition problem.

Thanks for the search info. I'll be trying that first. I don't beleive that it is ignition problems. All of the cylinders are firing and I believe timing to be set correctly. But could alittle bit of timing cause a rich condition?
