wondering what carb would be better for my application, im going to run either a holley 670 SA or 770, now here some specs on the engine,

-96 vortec block 4 bolt main
-cast crank
-vortec PM rods
-Speed pro .030 over forged aluminum pistons
-Moly rings
-Comp cams hydraulics roller cam .510/.520 lift 282/288 advertised duration
-factory lifters
-double roller timing set
-Aluminum Heads 64cc chamber 190cc intake runner 2.02/1.60 valves(manley valves)
-986-16/742-16/611-16 springs retainers and keepers
-edelbrock torker intake w/ 1" carb spacer(phenolic)

im hoping the engine is around 450hp with all the other goodies i have planed which menas i think it would probaly like the 770 better. what do you guys think????

if this is purely a street car, I'd probably lean to the 670/650. If you intend to go to the track once in a while, then probably the 750/770 is more in your range.

Neither. The SA line is a cruel joke on the unsuspecting and unknowing.

Go with a 750 Holley double pumper. If track only, get the HP version. Otherwise, a standard universal 4150 will be fine.

And dump that Torker intake. Another cruel joke. An RPM Air Gap will leave it in the dust. If you want single plane, go for the Victor Jr.

What are you screwing around with vacuum secondaries for if it's going to see a lot of track time? Get with the program and go with a 750 double pumper

Not sure what you mean by "tall port". The Torker isn't anything special. What heads are those, exactly? Edelbrock RPM? Etec?

tall port?? you only have 190cc intake runners.. if you need a tall port manifold, port a vic jr to match.. just get the cheapest one and port that guy.. the cheap one has relatively small ports from edelbrock.. i took out a good 1/16th inch all the way around and still didnt match up to a 1205 gasket.. and i use a 1206 gasket.. thats a tall port..

the heads are described as having a raised port design and that most regular manifolds won work(if that makes any sense??????)

Edelbrock RPM air gap if it'll work.

Like these, right?

Use a Vortec intake. "Raised" port is more like it.
