Quick Fuel SS vs Q series

Ok guys i changed my decision on carbs ( again ). Originally it was going to be a holley DP 750 mech secondaries. Now i think am set on the quick fuel carbs, i love the way they look and they get nice reviews by eveyone. Which brings me to the question for the experts.

Q series are running roughly $100 more then the Super Street series. Seeing i know nothing about carbs, can someone explain in simpliar terms why it is better? Will the Q series be an overkill of the SS series for my application? Motor list is here
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...-383-swap.html want to average 500fwhp, eventually 150 shot down the road.

if any how much gains am i talkin between the 2? running a 1inch spacer aswell. If its 5 or 10 hp then ill go with SS, if its 5-10hp but Q series is better with throttle response etc ill prob go with that.

Re: Quick Fuel SS vs Q series

i put Q series on everything I build for people. Don't need a choke for a strip car.

I'd personally go with whichever one had annular boosters, regardless of choke option.

Quick Fuel Carbs on Summit

seems to be alot more pricey chopping the choke off.

Re: Quick Fuel SS vs Q series

would think an electric choke would be more. So Q series is no choke, SS is choke, any other differences between the 2?

based on my results on summit, it costs 220 to buy a quick fuel carb w/o a choke.

Re: Quick Fuel SS vs Q series

which one you look up? All the Q series i seen were 620+ and SS series 540ish.

I just dont want any downfall in parts, i went all out ( too me ) on this build rather then my original budget plan, i want a decent carb that will put a on my face

Get a Q-750-AN like I did. Annular boosters are fantastic. These carbs are awesome in every way possible.

Just a picture for reference I went with the 750 on my modified 355. I think your 383 will love it.

why do you know his exact combo has a weak carb signal? otherwise you're just asking him to put huge restrictions in the air flow path of his carb.

Re: Quick Fuel SS vs Q series

i've read acouple post saying non choke carbs flow a tad bit better, the the flow would seem insignificant to someone. How much flow difference you talking?

Re: Quick Fuel SS vs Q series

it's a nice carb, if you ever plan on going up in motor size in the future you might think about a 850

Re: Quick Fuel SS vs Q series

You will love the Q-750 1 of the best carb I ever had. post some picks when you
get it set up. For my motor set up my jet size 78/89, nozzles 35/38, accelerator pumps are 30/50. I also have 2 other quick fuels carbs.
