Tune carb for higher altitude?
Hey all, a couple months ago I moved from Florida to Colorado. Does the carb need to be tuned to account for the higher altitude? What would I need to tweak?

The computer carb does the primary retuning for you on the go.
If you haven't retuned the secondaries (rods/hanger, AV tension), then you'll probably benefit from that.

What do you have for a carb?
When I moved from the eastern virginia to newmexico I went from "just running a little too rich" to drounding the engine in fuel.

When you go to a higher altitude, you can usually get away with advancing it a few degrees from the factory low altitude setting since cylinder pressures will be a little lower. Backing it off a few degrees would be going the wrong way.

I have a quadrajet. I haven't re-tuned the secondaries. Any suggestions on what rods/hanger I should go with?

Re: Tune carb for higher altitude?
That was not the case for the car I use to drive when I lived in California. Maybe it was because I didn't rejet the carbs and the mixture was off at altitude. The car wouldn't run pull out on top end as good unless I backed it off.
