Well, all 4bbl carbs share the same diameter air cleaner flange, but that doesn't mean you can just drop a QJet air cleaner onto a different style of carb.

I am not certain, but I am fairly sure NOT and Edlebrock/Carter. Holley possibly but I wonder if the fuel inlet valve nuts front and back would hit on the underside of the assy. Might be easily solved with an air cleaner spacer or just a really thick air cleaner gasket (Mr. Gasket sells one).

Edelbrock/Carter - yes

Holley dual feed - no

Holley single feed - yes

Now, the really dumb question: Why are you thinking of changing your carburetor?

Re: 5.0 HO Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner

you have the best street carburetor ever designed on the car now- why change it? but if you are going to change it, go to a non electronic quadrajet with an electric choke, which is literally a bolt on replacement..

The non-computer quadrajet will use the same four bolts to the intake manifold as the factory computer quadrajet, but it is hardly a "bolt on replacement".

fuel line hooks up... brake booster line hooks up... pcv line hooks up... throttle cable and tv cable hook up.. choke coil plugs right in...
what am i missing?
unless you're talking about the need to change the distributor, too, but that's a given since he's asking about what other styles of carbs the air cleaner will fit on and the distributor will need to go no matter which one he settles on..

Re: 5.0 HO Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner

I want to keep my carb. that i have now but it seems to be running rich. I have to find some one that knows how to tune it. I found a guy that used to work for gm yrs. ago. Going to bring it to him to look at it but I think something other is wrong with the motor. it sometimes smokes when i start it might be the valve seals. the car had a valve job. done at 63000 mi. and it has 88000 on it now. just don't seem right. so if it don't work out for me im going to put a turn key 383 stroker from Smeding Performance in the car and I have a chance to Buy a duel air cleaner and i want to know if it will fit because i like the looks of them.

Re: 5.0 HO Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner

what carb do you have now?
if it's a quadrajet (and it should be. every street car should have a quadrajet) then it will fit... if it's not, then it might not..
