Saw this bar at the fbody gathering this past weekend and it looks top notch. Thinking of getting one for my 91 TA. Hawks has great parts and is awesome to deal with so if you want a great addition to your car check this out.

Is this a cosmetic light bar or will it actually intergrate into the chassis and be a structual point/support like a regular roll bar?

Yes, I too saw it at G8 and really liked it. Nice work and I agree, Hawks is a good source to purchase from.

After seeing the prototype I would like to have one. Bruce count me in when your ready to order.

Tnxs,
John

How sturdy is it? I would hate to drop 5 bill's and have one of my drunkin friends break it the first night! If its just screwed on into plastic I would be worried.

I'd rather spend $500 on a 8 point roll bar, installation and a 5 point harness. But that's just me. Lightbars look cool...I guess.

I saw the bar at the G8 F-body event. The bar was mounted with two steel plates per side. One plate mounted under the shoulder belt mount point. The second was an angle steel piece that bolted to the steel support structure. The plastic trim piece that covers the shoulder belt mount are needs to be trimmed at the bottom for the plate to clear. If you're concerned about trimming an OEM plastic piece Hawkes has aftermarket trim pieces available. It is definitely solidly mounted.

I just meant that for the same price of that lightbar, you can get an 8 pt, have it installed, and get a decent 5 pt harness to go with it. I don't have a tubing notcher so I'll have to wait and have someone else install mine.
