why bother with win aldl if you have a wb02?
I did a search on this but really couldn't find a good answer so I hope you guys can help me once again.
I just went from 65# to 90# injectors so, I get to start tuning again.
Is the current thinking that you should just tune to an afr that maximizes performance in non-pe and pe and forget about
what the blms say on winaldl? do I still need to shoot for 128's?
I can log rpm, afr and map on my wbo2 and I think the data is a lot better than the lagged stuff I get from my 8746 ECM and winaldl. But I don't know.
Case in point, 2000rpm@40 kpa cruise, i get 14.5 to 15.0 on the wbo2 but blm's in the 123 range.
so, If I believe the wbo2, i leave it alone until I figure out if that is the best afr for the engine at cruise. If I believe the blm's I take out fuel which should make it run leaner and thats assuming I am getting good samples in that cell for winaldl.
Hope this makes sense.
thanks for the help ........................bob

Use both,
The 123 blm is just an indicator that your VE cell in that area is a little rich, so the blm is lower to give a stioch (14.7 to 1), which is what your WB is showing.
The Fuel part of tuning is the easiest part, then theres spark, AE stuff, IAC stuff, prop gains, choke and startup routines.
The WB is great for Fuel, but it can't help you on most of the other stuff, unless you know the values from winaldl, or another scanner.

yeah, its late and as I started thinking about it again, it seemed that the computer is doing its job by taking out fuel to get me to the 14.7afr range. so, to make my fuel table 1 more precise, I should take out some fuel per the blm and i should still end up with a similar afr. Using both wbo2 and blm's makes sense now.
I got to start with the fuel tables, and then look at the other stuff i know, although I am amazed that i am getting some knock counts now that i have not seen before. That makes no sense to me given I theoretically added more fuel, with the larger injectors but then very little of this does make sense to me. What a "hobby" I picked!!!! ................bob.

my WB does not have the TPS and RPM inputs as of yet. So i may use the winaldl to track tps and rpm and somehow link the WB data to the winaldl logs. i have had the WB for 3 days now and recognized the need for the TPS% at the very least to record the AE events. took me one log to realize that i had way too much AE in my bin. seems tuning by winaldl alone is archaic now that i have the WB. what comes next? When the speedreader comes out its gonna change things big time (for most people). Also when combined with a prominator pro, and maybe a gtech, its gonna be easy to get dialed in.
I have done minimal tuning this summer, because 1 day with the speedreader and prominator pro, I'm gonna get my setup tunned better than my last 2 years of tuning.
