730 idle speed question, & TPS V vs. %
1. 1992 '262 ECM (aka '730), using TunerPro, Moates G1 & 27C256. Why is my idle table ignored by the ECM? It goes from 1300-1000, but scans with Datamaster $8D always say target idle is 800rpm and it never changes with temperature. It starts and immediately idles at 800rpm regardless. This is too low for the alternator on the underdrive pulley.
2. TPS voltage ranges from 0.55 - 4.39v. With ignition on and engine off, 4.0v is 100%. With engine running, 3.3v is 100%. WTF??
TIA
Dave

If I remember correctly there is something that needs to be changed to allow for a higher idle to be set in the chip. Please correct if I am wrong

FYI, Traxion's Super-AUJP bin includes a change that bumps up the max idle RPM. I think it's changed to 1200 rpm.

Is this the file s_aujp_v2.zip on moates.net? Can that be changed on a Moates G1 or does it have to be reprogrammed in the stock chip?

Copy over your VE and spark tables from your current setup.
Make sure to check ALL the parameters so you don't have trouble by overlooking something then burn it on your 256 chip for the G1.
That file is for 700R4 trans BTW.

I guess that won't do me much good if it is for an automatic.

The problem with the $8D code is that each BCC also has different code. GM moved it around a little and made minor changes to it. So in order to know which byte to change to get a higher allowed idle, I need to know the BCC that you are using.

I don't know. Can I find it in the BIN file with TunerPro?
