Need a push start
Ok I'm slowly getting done with this engine and need to start the tuning and programming. I'm running a 355 with the HSR, trickflow 195 heads, compcams 268xfi cam, I am curious as to what bin I should start with so I can get this thing running without washing down the cylinder walls with fuel. After that I should be able to play around with it and get running right. I appreciate any help. Thanks

Re: Need a push start
Start with a bone stock AUJP BIN. Change the displacement value and injector flow rate constant.
Since you did not mention which ECM you are using I assumed it is the '7730.
Reduce the VE table below 2K RPM by 10%. Make sure everything is correct: fuel pressure, TPS, CTS, MAT, O2 connected (heated if using headers), put a timing light on #1 and set light down out of the way.
Start the engine and get it running, hold the RPM at 1200 - 1500 and steady. Check the timing that it is in the 28 - 32 deg BTDC area. Otherwise twist the distributor.
Evaluate, black smoke from pipes (too rich). Or does it want to surge and die (too lean)? Correct as required and continue.
Get the engine warmed up and in closed loop. This will have the ECM correcting the fueling.
Then start tuning.
Forgot to add: once the engine will run at idle, disconnect the BYPASS and set the timing to 6 BTDC. Then lock the distributor down. Note that this needs to be done on a warmed up engine. Then turn off engine, reconnect the BYPASS, remove timing light and continue.
