bought new car need lots and lots of help.....

Hi,
I just bought a 82 firebird for a project car and i have quite a bit of electrical prioblems.

Today before i drove it home i had p/w's but ever sence i tryed to put the headlights up my windows wont work. also the lights wont go up and i dont have any turn signals... no dash indicator blinking and no clicking at all.

also my gas level and water temp cluster (i think thats the one) is not working either. I didnt get a chance to pull any fuses yet i am working now.

I figure this may all be related maybe i can kill 2 birds with one stone....what problems of thoes are on the same fuse.

Is there headliight modules in these cars like some other pop up lights??

I do have wire diagrams for 82-92 camaros....im thinking thats not ganna help me.

Thanks if someone can help
I just need so experianced guys that owned these rigs to let me know some tips. I already know the basics.

Had a feeling my name would pop up when I saw this thread. Your headlight doors operate off the "TAIL" fuse as the turn signals do also, Your dash indicators for the turn signal aren't working because the turn signals aren't, so that problem is solved. Your power windows work off the "WDO CIRCUIT BREAKER" on the fuse panel (30 amp metal unit). The instruments work off the "GAGES" fuse on the fuse panel. Give a holler if you need the schematics for this. And no, your haynes manual will be of no help to you in this.

And maybe this one for your doors. BTW the fusible links shown here are located in the headlight wire bundle located by the left radiator shroud.

one last question.....

where are the relays and the actuators relays located?? Maybe if i seen a pic of what im looking for i could find them to test them. Im actually going to get another whole light assembly from the old owner tomorow morn. Hopefully its not the motors.

The actuators are located next to the headlight assembly's and the relays are located on the actuators. the isolation actuator relay is located on a support behind the right hand headlight.

Re: bought new car need lots and lots of help.....

Back in June I bought an 82 trans am. The previous owner neglected it probably from the start. Up until i came along she sat for two years in this guys back yard. I'm learning everything i can about them. If you ever have a question just pm me.

First things first, check the fuses, that may explain the dysfunctional gauges.

The power window problem i'm experiencing too, the brushes in the p/w motors are going bad.

The headlight modules were not installed in f-bodies until '87

Headlight problems? Welcome to the world of firebird owners. If you wish I can send you all the wiring diagrams and info that you need just send me an updated list of your problems.

PS--
If this post seems a little late, it's because I pay little attention to the thread dates.
