I'm looking for diagrams for the following.

91Z28 hatch motor

and

91 RS vert hatch motor.

I know someone who had a broke 91Z motor and out in a complete unit form a 91 RS VERT but 1 or 2 wires are diff.
or 1 wire with 2 prongs and her car is 1 wire 1 prong i forget.

If I rem right the motor goes down put wont stop. I know it worked fine when pulled out of my vert. and put in in a locker in my shop.

any help would be great.

THANKS
Chris

Your hatch or trunk pull-down motor (in the case of a convertible) has a bad gear nut. I sell them or you can get it at any dealer. Check the hatch motor repair tech article I wrote.

There were two styles of motorized hatch pull-down unit used in 1991. Ealry ones have a metal frame. Mid-year they changed to one that has a tan-colored plastic frame to it. Both use the same gear nut. A broken gear nut will cause the same problem for either design.

Got it thanks Trickster...now if I can figure it out what I really need to do is get power straight to the motor to make sure it works and if it does then I need to figure out which switch is bad.

You can supply +/-12v directly to the motor by using test probes. There are two small holes where the reversing switch attaches to the terminals on the motor.

When you are putting the hatch motor back in, make sure its exactly where it was, if its over to the side too much, the hatch will come down on the side and i took 2 big chips out of my paint.
