TPS Installation

Ok I've heard numerous different answers , I've got a 92' Z28 5.7 TPI , is the TPS adjustable , cause I've heard that the 90-92 arent , leading to my question do I just install and plug in and that it ? , second question I tried to get a reading from the TPS and I cant get a reading at all , but there are like rubber insides of the connector so I dont think Iam making a connection , I need some help please!! , Also could someone explain how to set the idle speed??

I had to take a smal Dremel bit and egg the holes on my 91's to adjust it.

You should be able to plug it in and let it go. Mine wasn't off by more than a couple 10'th anyway.

Thats what I was thinking but , how did you manage to drill it without damaging the wires , and also , are the 91-92 TPS adjustable or is that just the earlier ones??

Only the pre 1990 TPS units are adjustable, the others are pre-set at the factory and are not adjustable. Another ploy to get your money if something goes wrong.

These so-called enhancers supposedly provide a faster response from the TPS to the ECM. I have seen no documented proof of this and would have to advise you not to waste your money on them. If someone on this board has any other documentation to support the claims of these products I would be interested in seeing it.

A word of caution when installing the new one. Do not overtighten the screws securing it to the throttle body. This would cause it to bind and not function correctly. The screws are only supposed to be a hair more than finger tight.
