Relay perhaps, which is in the console, IIRC. BTW, I have that issue from time to time. I simply clean the hatch contacts and all's well.

Re: rear hatch issue

The motor may need to be reset. Theres a tab right beside the latch (in the hole drivers side i think) that needs to pushed down. Sounds like the motor may not have hit bottom.
There is alot of info on this topic. Search hatch wont close or hatch wont open. Could be a number of things but resetting is simplest check.

He has a grab-it-and grunt version, no motor.

Re: rear hatch issue

If you can pop the hatch open and you can hear it trying to release but it does not,the catch on it may need a little white grease to free it up. I'd try this out.

let us know how you made out.

Re: rear hatch issue

I have no key to open it so maybe that will come into play here. Weird, thing was it was working great a while ago, just now its not. Also my dome light is not working either. Whether or not they are connected is not certain. So I had a low bat today, but plenty to turn it over, but not start. I will charge er up and try tomorrow. From what I remember though I pressed the switch and got nothing at all.

Re: rear hatch issue

Don't have a key to open it and still no luck on opening it up. Should I replace the relay, it is in the area near the horn relay correct?
