power lock problem

Going to be doing alarm with keyless entry pretty soon so i guess i will finally fix this. The door locks will work but u have to press the button about 5 times before the locks will be completely locked or unlocked. Both sides are about the same. Is this a wiring issue with not enough power going to them? do i need new lock actuators? or do i just need to grease all the moving parts in my door?

Try cleaning the grime build up on the slides. Common problem...Try the cleaning before going off the deep end.

Re: power lock problem

my power locks didn't lock on their own power at all. I took my door panels off and soaked them with PB blaster (you can use any solution that breaks down rust) and they work like a charm.

Re: power lock problem

Ok i have this problem also. And i have a full can of PB blaster in the cabinet(actually two lol)

What exactly did you spray all to get it to work. My drivers one works great but my passenger one only goes half way. I have a remote 2 way alarm and i want to get this fixed soon so when i pull on the passenger door handle the door comes open and i forget my alarm is on and look like im stealing my own car.

...Did this at the movies trying to be nice and let the girl i was with in the car. Set off the alarm and ouuu look there is the cop conviently right THERE!...i had to prove it was my car and all that crap. PITA for no good reason. The fact that i forgot i had the alarm on was stupid in the first place but i was more focused on other things at the time lol

Re: power lock problem

LOL I can just imagine that must have been funny... Anyways about a year ago i rebuilt my doors completely only to screw up the door locks even more... I replaced the door lock actuators and now it just doesn't even work at all or very little... No matter how many times i press it, it won't work... I sprayed lithium grease in there and it doesn't work anymore... Was that the wrong thing to spray or should i have just sprayed WD-40 or something?

Thanks,
-Marc

Re: power lock problem

I use graphite lube. Clean the inside of the latch with brake/carb cleaner to get the gunk and crap out then liberaly spray the graphite lube in as I lock and unlock the door.
