Dakota Digital SGI-5 without VSS buffer
I just ordered the Dakota Digital SGI 5. My car was converted from a V6 to a 305tbi. The po who did this never installed the vss buffer so.. when I bought the car I was told that it was the speed sensor. After trasing wires, checking parts, and the common ahh it must be broken so lets replace it method have all been used. Finally, I found out that my car needs the vss buffer and I do not even have connectors for one. I am gonna try to wire up this SGI 5 and see if I can finally get this stock gauge to work. I do currently have an aftermarket autometer nexus speedo installed. If I get the stock gauge to work, I plan on selling this nexus gauge with its module for $300 dollars.

It is really simple. There are two wires that come off the speed sensor unit itself. Trace those coming up the firewall, or even into your dash. (I found is easy enough to just find them under the hood given more room and light) Just wire it up to control module. I can take pictures probably tomorrow when it is done raining. I can have that shipped for $320. The nicest feature of the gauge I think is that you can use any combo of gears, tire size and even speed sensor gear and still calibrate the gauge to read correctly.
Also, What engine is in your car and yes, the gauge will work for any car, engine and trans combo. (atleast ours that I know of, haha) The installation was supper easy, just gotta find a good place to mount the gauge. Like I said, I will get some pictures of it for you and the installation.

This gauge will not fit inside of the cluster atleast I do not know how to do that. I will take a few pics for you then probably tomorrow when I can get the car in the garage and explain a few things. I am in no rush at all. I still need to find out if this sgi 5 will work or not. But yes, by thursday I will have pictures up and things written out for ya.

Re: Dakota Digital SGI-5 without VSS buffer
Sorry for the big delay. I am waiting for these parts to show up in the mail. I would have thought they would have shown up by now but I guess we will have to just wait and see.
