Broken wire on engine bay connector question
Can anybody tell me what this connectors purpose is ? It's on a 1989 Trans Am 350 TPI . I've looked around online but can't get a definitive answer and I'm just wondering if I need to repair it or what I need to do. Thanks!

Re: Broken wire on engine bay connector question
That's the battery feed to the blower motor high speed relay. Without it, high speed won't work. Yes it needs to be repaired: cut that stupid grey connector off, and replace it with a pair of the BIG FAT WIDE yellow slide terminals. Not the little weenie narrow ones that are the same as the red and blue ones; you want the BIG FAT WIDE ones. There's ALOT of current that goes through that, and the little weenie ones will burn up, same as that stupid grey one from the factory already did.
Obviously you want them insulated somehow, since they'll have hard battery on them... get insulated ones if you can find them, the female at least; or heat shrink over the female one works well enough, or rubber spicing tape. Regular electrical tape probably won't last.
