Re: Cheap 495/505 Lift 215/220 Duration Cam
The car. I started messing around with an old KZ650 a couple of years ago and lost interest in the Firebird. A nephew of mine has been crazy about the car forever, so I'm holding onto it till he turns 16. He'll be a new driver, so his mother insists he leave it completely as it is till he's out of High School in two years, so I'm getting rid of the parts I've been ratholing for it.
I've been wanting to put a GPZ750 engine with a GPZ550 6-speed tranny and a set of Triozzi rearsets on my KZ650 for awhile; getting rid of the third gen stuff will more than pay for it. I'm not in any big hurry, so I'm putting things up here for a couple of weeks before I go to ebay. I'd rather have a forum member get them.

Re: Cheap 495/505 Lift 215/220 Duration Cam
Just curious if this has the 'lobe' machined for a mechanical (block mounted) fuel pump. I tried to study the pics, but couldn't confirm.
Honestly, I'm not very familiar when using an LT1 cam in on 'older' gen 1 sbc, but what would a person have to keep in mind when doing so(if you can offer any info)?
I picked up a new take-out ZZ4 cam a while ago, but this seems to offer a fair amount more on the intake lift and the price is good....Thanks.

Re: Cheap 495/505 Lift 215/220 Duration Cam
OK, there's a ton of info on installing LT1 camshafts you can search on here. Hopefully, if I tell you something wrong, one of the smarter guys on here will straighten it out.
Yes, this cam has the fuel pump lobe. You can see it in the first and second pics. It's the first lobe you see.
As I undertsnad it, all you need to do to use an LT1 cam in an early SBC is remove the pin you see coming out of the front of the camshaft. Again, you can search that here to be sure, and I'm sure if that's not correct someone will step in to set it straight.
