I just got my stock 9 bolt pulled out of my TTA and need to get it sold. The posi unit still works, I was pulling 1.6 60' times and it still lays down two tire patches. I upgraded to a Strange 60 since I'm pushing over 500HP at the wheels.
It makes a very small whine, I could only hear it when I had my window down and drove next to the center guard rail. It could be bearings, I've never changed them. It's done this for the 8 years that I've owned the car though so I've never considered it a problem.
I'll consider most offers, I can also deliver anywhere between San Diego and Anaheim for the cost of my fuel.
Comes with mounting brackets for 1LE discs.
I also have the stock TTA driveshaft for sale.

How about if you buy the axles and brackets, I'll give you the rest of it for free? I don't have any use for the housing alone.

What's the gear ratio? You may find it easier to part it out because of the shipping. I'd be interested in the brackets too.

It will be 3.27 gear if its stock.
To the OP, you may want to hang on to your stock parts, just incase you ever want to put it back to stock.
And wow a S60 Just a tad over kill

Re: 9 bolt posi rear FS
Yup, it's 3.27 ratio.
With over 600 ft-lbs to the wheels I think it was necessary... Honestly, it was about the same price as a 9" or 12 bolt ($2000).
I'll never put the car back to stock, it is too heavily modded to even comprehend putting things back...
I'd sell the axles and backing plates for $100 + shipping.

Re: 9 bolt posi rear FS
The only reason I say overkill is because the S60 is heavy and takes more power to spin than the 12 bolt and 9"....!
MMMMM Modded TTA w 600lbft to the wheels.. nice

Re: 9 bolt posi rear FS
Since there are no more 1/4 mile tracks anywhere in SoCal the extra 20lbs and 1-2% power loss vs the 9 inch didn't really bother me. This car has way to much power for the street already! I chose the S60 for "cool factor", it was cheaper than the Moser rears, and I want it to last me for the next 20yrs of burnouts and corner drifts
Oh... how are the late -89 brackets different? Did they also change the caliper carriers too? I had about 1/4" of gap between the Strange mounting plates and my caliper carriers that I had to shim, couldn't figure out why...

Re: 9 bolt posi rear FS
I scrapped the pinion gear with the housing. I have the carrier available still though. Prices listed above.
