Hydraulic roller in old block questions

I am building up a 400 block and came across a couple of confusing areas.
One is the oil galley plugs, the three in the front of the block, should there be one plug with a small orifice in it or should all three be a 'solid' plug with no holes?...
Reason why I ask this is because I am going with a hydraulic roller cam. Which brings up another question which confuses me. I have a cam button, but should there be a wear plate as well in the front and should there be anything other than the welsh plug in the back?.......

Thanks for the help.

I asked bout puting a roller cam in my 406 a little while ago and all I was told was to get a cam button and a good dbl roller timing chain.

U may want to do a check the archives on it I'm sure this has been discuss before.

There is an enormous amount of info on this in old posts on this subject; do a search on "retrofit" and you'll get drowned.

From the factory, all 3 of those plugs are solid. However, you can improve timing chain oiling by drilling the 2 outer ones (DO NOT drill the center one) with about a #65 to #70 drill bit. Drill both, or neither; otherwise the oiling to the lifters on the 2 banks will be different.

All you need is the cam button and the regular plug in the back. You can get one of those roller thrust bearings if you want, they're a good idea and all that, but not necessary.
