1986 Iroc-z28 Stock TPI 305 to 383.
I'm getting ready to swap my completly stock 305 out for a 383 and would like to keep the stock TPI and use it on the 383, if this is possible what would i have to change other than the fuel injectors and maybe from what i've read an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. i would also like to know of any other modifications that may need to be done as well. any and all advice/insight would be greatly appreciated.
I already have a completly rebuilt 700r4 that came out of a Z-28 with a 383 in it with less than 500 miles on the trany.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Understand that the stock TPI is a restriction to a 305. It is flow limited, and can't be "ported" to fix that. The long stock runners limit upper RPM power. Replacing the runners helps, as long as you port the base and plenum to match. But, it still restricts the power potential of the 383.
The Holley/Weiand Stealth Ram solves the problem, both flow and RPM potential. Doesn't cost any more than aftermarket runners, and you don't have to port anything.
You didn't provide any details of the 383, but heads and cam are important, especially the cam. Too much overlap and it won't be happy with you, especially at idle.
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator is more of a tuning aide than a necessity. What injectors you need depends upon the cam & heads.

The heads on the 383 now are 64cc aluminum heads and 2.02 1.60 int/exh valves not sure about the brand... the cam has a 280 to 292 advertised durration, the durration at .050 is 230 to 240, the lift is .465 intake and .472 exhaust.
i also have a set of aluminum pro-comp 64cc heads that are 2.02 and 1.60, a 670 holly carb, edelbrock highrise ram air gap intake, an msd distributer and everything except the 6al ignition box. would this be a better setup to go with as all parts are new.

That's a lot of cam. The TPI could probably be made to handle it with proper tuning.
I don't have any love for vacuum secondary carbs. A 650 double pumper would out-run the 670.
Whether the Pro Comp heads would be better than what's currently on the 383 depends upon what's currently on the 383.
