I'm going crazy here (Motor mounts)

I'm dropping my SBC in today. I am 100% positive my motor mount brackets are on the right sides. The motor mounts are just rubber like stock. I dropped the engine in. The driver side motor mount lines up perfect. The passenger side does not. It needs to be shifted towards the driver side. And the back needs to drop down. Nothing I do will make it line up. Anyone have any suggestions?

Update if this comes up in a search for anyone. Make sure nothing is hitting in the back. Wiggle the engine as it's going on the mounts. That worked for me. Also, drop your engine and tranny in together. I wish I would have.

Mounting the engine on the K-member outside of the car, then dropping the car over the engine/trans/K-member, is also a lot easier.

Can you do that with a regular jack and jack stands?

I had to leg press my engine into place to get it to seat right. Motor mounts are ALWAYS a PITA.

If you're referring to my post, you need to lift the front end of the car. Can't be done with a Jack.

I'm not sure that would have been easier for me. It wasn't horrible putting the tranny in after. But much harder to line up than I thought. Even on a tranny jack.
