2.8l and 3.1l hybrid

One of the main bearings and rod bearings are gone in my 2.8l. Am I able to use a 3.1 blotting end and put the 2.8 top end on ?

the 3.1 mpfi is supposedly an 88 and the 2.8 mpfi
is an 87

Re: 2.8l and 3.1l hybrid

The 3.1 mpfi didn't show up until 1990 in our cars. From 90 to 92 they are speed density, before 90 the 2.8 mpfi is mass air. The intake stuff is different, heads are the same.
