Hi Felix,

just been workin me arse off realy, in the process of changing jobs (returning to my engineering career, YAY!!!) and generaly existing through winter as we all do.

I'm not sure about the NASC nats, it may clash with a US trip, i'm gonna try though. I'll definately be at the spring and summer AACI nats though, and i'm gonna be at the Classic American nats as well.

Hows things dude? I hear there is a new house and job in the pipeline for you as well!

we gotta catch up for that beer!

Well, there are lot of dodgy cars out there. I'm just glad I subscribed to carfax!

Car 1. 2002 Camaro SS. Fantastic car, drove great, looked good. Was a cut & shut!

Car 2. 2002 Camaro Z28, was a 1999 car!

Car 3. 2001 Trans AM, mileage was 20K out!

The only car that came through clean was a 2000 Z28, and to be perfectly honest the Z28 looks boring. I think I exhausted the entire UK stock of Camaros and Firebirds. I had a look at a 2002 Trans AM WS6, but the guy wanted well over £20k for it.

I needed to buy a UK car because of lack of time, and having done the sums, a US car doesn't save you more than £2-3k even at the current exchange rates. The 2002 cars are asking big prices, but I've seen loads on e-bay that have failed to meet the reserve price.

I had to get rid of the charger because I needed the driveway back. The Mustang is my new company car

Paul

I have to finance the thing myself, but the business gives me a cash allowance in lieu of the car, the tax man reduces his call, and I still get to keep the company fuel card. So net result, car I like, and an extra few hundred quid in the bank each month.

erm, what should I do?

Mate tell me about it! Work is manic, just got a job at Codemasters!!! I am like a dog with 3 tails Computer games has always been my bag so this is just awesome for me. On top of that Nikki has decided we should move to walking distance from her parents (uh oh!!) At least the place has a garage (one of my stipulations) The bad news is that 2 years ago I said I never wanted to move again... funny how things change.. To be honest 2 kids and no support is very hard work, I'm looking forward to getting at least some life back!

Well done with your work mate, so no more Johnathon Palmer? Surely you're going to miss that though? So are you far from Rugby in Warks? How is the motor? Got rid of those stickers yet ?

Cheers,
Felix

Paul great to hear from you!! Sounds like things worked out after all! Just shows you have to keep your eyes open as there are dogs out there! You would think with a 4th Gen you would be pretty safe

So if the Mustang is a company car will you be getting a real car for your weekend car?

Do you miss your thirdgen at all?

Felix

Felix, congrats on the new job, and comiserations on moving closer to the inlaws!

Handed my notice in today, i finish at the end of the month! I'm not going to miss working 15 hour days, and bringing home a three figure pay cheque one bit.

The new job looks 80% at the moment, its a bit of a commutte (nearly 60 mile round trip each day) but that is a small price to pay for getting my career back on track.

if this doesn't come off, i'll simply go temping untill something decent turns up.

I dont know about the NASC nats yet, but i'll let you know as soon as i do.

Phil,

If you don't mind me asking, where are you currently working? Sounds pretty poor. Good luck on the new job.

Would I make you sick to say that my commute to work is a 10 minute walk?
I used to have a 40 odd mile drive and hated it. Had a Ka to keep the petrol cost down.
As soon as I got my current job, out went the Ka and in came a yank. Since it's only really used at the weekends (though is a daily driver), I still save money on petrol.

I'll name and shame the comapny after i leave, when the full list of attrocities will come out!

i once had a 10 min walk to work, but decided to leave the comapny due to it screwing about with my asthma. now i'm on a different medication, it wouldn't have been a problem.

If the Jhonson Mattey thing comes off, i'll probably be looking for either a diesel Mercedes 190E or a daewoo nexia to commute in...

The Camaro is staying, it will just graduate to weekend toy status!

Andy, took delivery this monday, went for a quick spin, and then have been away until this afternoon. It's an 01 Gt coupe, in Yellow. Seems in perfect order, with only 14k miles. Y'know it still needs all the handling improvements that the F-bodies do. Like strut braces, etc. You'd think they'd learn after 30 years or more. Oh, it's a 4.6 V8, not quite as quick as the Z28, but enough.
