Hi my friends. Hope all is well with you and your cars, great to see so many familiar faces on here- even you Ericviking
Well it looks like I will get another IROC soon, that's what mortgages are for right? Wife thinks I'm having a mid-life crisis and perhaps I am. Don't care either way.
So I am after an IROC covertible (as I am a girl ) and I want a Black one/red one or white one in that order. Needs to be tight, not messed around and ideally manual but appreciate that may not be possible.
Can you guys help me find a car? May consider a 5.7 t-top car. Black only.
That is looking SICK! Great stuff, I remember the shots as you were building this monster! Amazing flames, really suit it. Interesting camber on the front wheels
What shows are worth going to these days. Went to the Billing SummerNats last year and it was sad excuse of a show camping wise. Felt unsafe, un-populated and full of oiks.

I do love your car though mate!
Hi ZZ42.
The front wheels are at that angle because it is low down on its air suspension!
A lot of the old guys have left. Phil and the guy with the red RS (forgotten his name). Plus, Dirk offloaded the board to new management and since then it's not as fast as it was, is full of adverts, and generally less enjoyable.

"even you erictheviking", cheeky bugger, ha
I dont know whether you've noticed, but 3rd gens are goin for a steal atm. Seen some nice cars goin for peanuts. You are right about the lack of community feel here, dunno really, I do more reading of technical stuff than posting myself. Got a new 900hp 400ci blown motor comin v.soon, so I'll put some progress stuff on like Andy Fanshawe, been good to see progress on his car. I was doin a report on the 996 brakes on mine, but still havent got round to finishing them. Too many parties, not enough time, oh and the fact I got a Supra as well.
Take care

Good to hear from ya mate. Look forward to seeing those pictures yeah seems they are rock bottom rtight now, definitely a good time to buy. In fact the whole 2nd hand car market is on its knees here.
Exactly, the prices are dirt cheap...the fule prices have helped too. People bought the cars to look cool in and then they can't afford the petrol. I'd buy a couple at the prices they are at, but I only have space for 4 cars and they are not the sport of thing you leave out on the street. Gordon has 6 cars himself and is also lacking the space for more!

Well I've done it Here she is, an 88 IROC vert all the way from N.Ireland. 50k miles from new and really lovely in every way. Very happy even if she is a little slower than the white one.
Thanks Andy. It really was an adventure- approx 360 miles or so with a blowing manifold.. Never missed a beat though. I got a 0.99p Ryan Air flight at 06:50 in ther morning and back home at near 8 at night
The car never got Irish plates but I technically have to treat as an import so off to DVLA tomorrow!
I like the stock look. Eve the ZZ4 was stock appearance apart from being tastefully lowered and the untasteful rear pipes I may lower this but love the genuine IROC rims. Already had smog equipment taken out and cat replacement pipe and she has twin cherry bombs. Other than that will do the obligatory K&N and tinker with the tpi set up at some point. Want it useable.

Gordon was in fact nominated to speak to you regarding the rear pipes, but he never followed through on it.
Looks really nice. I was thinking about a vert a few months ago, but where to put it is the problem. I'd do the free mods to it and port out the plenum, base and get an upgraded cam...from a reputable source I wouldn't go bigger than a 17" wheel as for me the sidewalls start to get too stiff when you go larger and I have issues as it is with a 50 profile, so anything less than a 45 or 40 would, for me anyway, give me more traction grief and rattle my liver clean out of it's mounting on the UK roads.
Does it have a posi and do you know what gears it has?
I'm planning to get my car on the dyno either this year or the first half of next year once I get my new rear end rebuilt and broken in so it will be interesting to see what my low compression build puts out without a supercharger bolted on.
Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll e-mail you in a few days when I get back, still in NY at the moment.
The new car has POSI and unsure on ratio but guess 3.23 or so... Its a cruiser and a good one at that. Not going to go crazy with this one. Not going to go crazy. Not going to.
Intake and a set of headers isn't classed as crazy and can be done without the wife ever knowing A small shot of nitrous doesn't sound too crazy either.
