cheapest headers??

cheapest headers??

what are the least expensive v8 headers that are cast iron like the v6 exhaust manifold from summit. i need something cheap because ill only have them for a few months before i turbo the 383 im getting.

Transmission: T10, hurst shifter
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, true-trac, 3.73
headers aren't cast iron, exhaust manifolds are cast iron. Headers are steel, or stainless.

If you want the cheapest, just use the stock exhaust manifolds. If you put on headers, you'll need a y-pipe, and you'll be out $300 when the smoke clears, at least.

maybe look for some used hedmens in the classified section?? I would imagine you get get some used ones pretty damn cheap...

Buying new - cheaping out is asking for problems. Poor performance, leaks, poorly fitting parts.

You can buy good headers for relatively cheap in the classified section here though. I got my Hedman shorties for $50 and they are a pretty nice header.

theres a set on ebay for like 120 i think y pipe included. im sure the qaulity isnt so great though

I have the hedmans long tubes and there 136 on jegs i like them, but the down side with them is you need to make up the rest of your exhaust because they don't come with a y pipe and the ground clearance isn't as good as it would be with shorties. They did not fit as well as they should have they needed a little help with getting them in on the drivers side. I needed to grind a minimal amount of one a arm and put a small dent in one of the primary tubes.
