New Muffler Question, Magnaflow?
So last year I hacked my exhaust off mid car and put a 3" dynomax bullet on there...loved it at first but not the idea of just be loud and poppy it kind of annoying lol. So now I'm looking for a new oval muffler to put mid car that will tone it down and hopefully smooth the sound out. It was shorty headers and is carb'd. I'm looking at...

But also would like to know if this is what I am looking for? Also what are some other good options that are out there?

You can do yourself a favor and save some money, just get exhaust wrap for your headers and mid pipes, it'll tone it down a LOT, basically a smooth sound, what you're looking for.
On the other hand if you really want to invest in a new muffler, Flowmasters will really quiet a car down.
I had a Flowmaster 40 on and it was so quiet that it was annoying, so I sawed it off, now I'm running just a 3 inch Y pipe dumped after the axle.
Hope I helped out a little! Good luck.

If the Dynomax Bullet is too load, Dynomax has a few other options you can go with. There is not much room under the center of the car but you might be able to fit a 6 in round Ultra Flo Welded under there (like PN 17223). What I did was order these pipes that are made for a 4th gen but fit perfectly on our cars. Please note this assumes that you have headers and are building a custom y-pipe.
Dynomax pipe PN's
54064
53061
Muffler PN
17233 (20 in body)
The muffler flows 1800 CFM and will theoretically support 818 hp.
or if you want it louder use
17221 (14 in body)
This muffler flows 1300 CFM and will theoretically support 591 hp.
Then you can do whatever you like with the tailpipe. I just bought a universal J-bend and cut it to fit. Then I tucked the pipe up tight to the floor and used a turndown to hide the exhaust under the bumper. This setup does require some custom work to make it fit so be prepared to cut and weld.
I like the single 3 in exhaust better the the reverse split duels on our cars because it sounds better, its lighter, and i don't like the way exhaust tips look on third gens.

Did you say those two dynomax pipes fit perfectly on third gens? If so i will get them instead of the other ones that are a good bit more in price.
